The European Technology Platform (ETP) ‘Food for Life’, has launched the implementation plan of its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.

This new plan was presented on 3 December 2014 to key stakeholders from the food supply chain and academia at an event in Brussels. High-level representatives from the European Commission also attended the formal launch. Dr John Bell, Director of Bioeconomy at DG Research and Innovation, who was one of the event’s main speakers, made important suggestions to further improve the Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda and to continue aligning with food and drink industry’s key priorities.

Strategic priorities of the food and drink industry include:

  • Promoting informed consumer choices.
  • Delivering strategic solutions for safe foods and healthy diets for all.
  • Creating opportunities for a sustainable and competitive agri-food industry, through innovation in food processing.
